Our Head of Strategy and Economics has published his analysis on forecasts for the UK economy. The Treasury believes the current recession will follow a V-shaped pattern similar to the rebounds in the 1980s and 1990s. We disagree and see a sustained recovery in the UK as unlikely. Despite our pessimism about the UK economy, equities are attractive.
